About Matt Keegan

Born on December 20, 1989, and raised alongside three siblings, Keegan has lived through the highs and lows of life with a passion that carries into every bar he writes. Outside of music, he describes himself simply as “passionate, human, flawed” — traits that resonate deeply with listeners who see themselves in his story.

Keegan’s sound can be summed up in three words: I Am You. His ability to mirror the struggles and triumphs of everyday life makes his music feel less like performance and more like testimony. For new listeners, the powerful track “Price of Addiction” offers a raw entry point into his world.

At the heart of Keegan’s artistry is his ongoing battle with addiction and recovery — a cycle of falling, getting back up, and refusing to stay down. He openly weaves his faith into his music, placing God at the forefront of his message. His lyrics aren’t about painting a perfect picture, but about proving that survival and hope are possible. As he often reminds his audience: “If I’m still standing here, so can you. If I’m still going, so can you.”

For Keegan, music is more than creative expression — it’s a lifeline. It serves as full release, testimony, and ministry all at once. His lyric “I ain’t perfect, but I got purpose” from his song "Maybe It's Me" encapsulates not only his artistry but also his personal philosophy.

In late 2021 and early 2022, Matt Keegan crossed paths with Sabian “VLXII” Myers. Their connection began when Keegan heard a mix that immediately caught his attention—he had to know who was behind it. That discovery led him to Sabian, and from their very first conversations, the two found an undeniable creative chemistry.

Keegan considers himself fortunate to have met Sabian and openly credits him as a driving force behind his growth and success as an artist. Beyond just engineering and production, Sabian has played a key role in helping Keegan refine his sound, sharpen his identity, and elevate his artistry.

To Keegan, Sabian "VanLee XII"  is a true diamond in the rough—someone whose rare versatility sets him apart. His ability to seamlessly move between producing, engineering, writing, coaching, rapping, singing and even having the ability to do back end technical work, Graphic design and more shows a depth of talent that makes it clear their partnership was more than coincidence. Keegan believes their meeting was destined, and that belief continues to fuel the work they create together. Since then, his journey has already inspired millions. With over 5 million total streams across platforms, Keegan’s catalog has reached audiences far beyond his hometown. Along the way, he has collaborated with artists such as Colicchie, Benjamin Lerner, J. Kline, Skyler Ray, Jared Blaine, 2 Fluent, Sabian 'VLXII' himself and more. His message resonates both within and outside the recovery community. Despite years of doubt and ridicule from others, Keegan always believed his music would matter — and time has proven him right.

Musically, his influences range from Slipknot and Linkin Park to Colicchie, NF, Limp Bizkit, and Eminem, blending intensity with vulnerability. Spiritually, his drive is fueled by ministry, scripture, and the countless recovery stories that remind him of the power of perseverance.

Keegan’s mission is clear: to let people who share his struggles know that they are not alone, and that there is always a way forward — even if that way means fighting every single day. Looking ahead, he trusts his path to unfold where God leads him, but one thing is certain: his songs will continue to carry messages of hope, strength, and inspiration to those who need it most.
